INTRICT ENTRY #5 Sayawan na!haha..

Yah right!...It's the dance showdown day.The most awaited day of Sir Oli but not of his students.=D..We were required to dance to fill up the 45 points that was lost during the database challenge. Actually not all of us danced, there were 6 out of 7 groups who faced the consequence. Sir Oli provided us the list of the songs in which we had the remix of those.

During that day, we found out that we have some blockmates that are gifted in doing the moves. =D. It was really fun watching our blockmates dance! Thanks to sir Oli because without him we won't able to see how talented our blockmates are.=D

INTRiCT ENTRY #4.....MAKRO!!!^_^

We had our field trip at Makro Makati last July 25,2008. We were given a chance to see how Makro receives their products from different suppliers around the globe. Before we had the tour at the warehouse, Ms. Girly Valenzuela, the Branch Manager of Makro Makati, gave us a brief introduction and history of Makro. After that, she brought us in the wet area where you can find the fish, meat and poultry goods. We were just like reporters trying to get the side of Ms.Girly.=D
Some of our blockmates used their phones in recording the voice of Ms. Girly cause we can't really hear what she was talking during that tour so they decided to use technology..=)) Anyway, after the wet area, we proceeded to the dry area where you can find obviously the dry goods like chips, soaps, and also appliances. She also showed us the place where the delivered goods are being dropped. The dry goods are being dropped in what they called the dry dock while the wet ones are being dropped in the wet dock. After the tour, Ms.Girly gave us time to ask questions regarding the processes that she had discussed during the tour. Then, after the question and answer portion, we now headed back to DLSU to make our report.

Sir Oli told us to make a project which is a report on what we have learned during the field trip. We were all surprised when he told us to pass the project 2 days after it was announced. To make this possible, we should have teamwork and patience for us to finish the project before the deadline. He asked us to make use of the newly introduced Microsoft Visio in showing the diagrams. At first it was sooo difficult using this software, but as we explored it we were now familiar with the features of this new software.=D..

I can say this is one of the most unforgettable experience I've ever had. For the first time I stayed at school doing this project till 11 o'clock in the evening! Haha. =))

INTRICT ENTRY #3..INTERVIEW w/ the BOSSES..^_^

Sir Oli gave us an adventurous assignment..It's an interview with the managers!..Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go with my group mates on their interview (but I helped them in doing the powerpoint presentation) with the Manager II and Deputy Chief Director of the Department of Loans and Credit of Bangko Central ng Pilipinas because of some reasons. Anyway, they told me that they had lots of fun interviewing the people behind BCP. As I've watched the video, I've learned that being a manager requires alot of leadership skills and also the ability of working with different people. I've also learned that they are using Microsoft Excel to make their work more organize and accurate and to be more productive in doing their job.

Being a manager is a tough job especially when handling the Department of Loans and Credit in BCP. It requires alot of patient and knowledge with numbers because these managers will be dealing much with money. In this case, they should have a good technology that would help them to gather precise information and data.=D..Okei folks, that's all..=p

While doing this assignment, I found out that there are so many job opportunities that are being offered to ICTM graduates. I think I made the right choice of chosing this course!=)Here are the possible jobs that an ICTM graduate can find:

This graph shows the technical skills that an applicant should have.Based on the data, most of the companies wanted an employee with high-level of understanding on JAVA language. Now I know the importance of studying INTRPROG..=). Companies also demanded for ICTM professionals who are familiar and understands C/C++ language.

On this graph, companies demanded for ICTM professionals who have storng verbal and written communications skills. The applicant should really be fluent in speaking and writting english language.Companies also wanted an applicant whose open on relocation on any branch of the corporation. The applicant must be willing to be assingned anywhere the company desires to.

The third graph shows the responsibilities that an employee should perform and accomplish. As the the graph illustrates, an applicant must have programming background. Familiarization with the technology used in the developing system is also an aspect that an employee should have.

Not all ICTM graduates would be working in a call center industry. There are lots of job opportunities that are being offered by prestigous companies.=)

Hmmm..I think I need to develop my leadership skills.=p.. In order for me to achieve this, I will join organizations and involve myself in activities that would help me gain confidence and strengthen my association with other people.

My first ever blog..(INTRICT ENRTY #1)

This subject is very cool as well as the professor! I’m really having fun discovering new things about Internet.=)..Anyway, here's my blog entry for this week.

Honestly, I rarely use Google to search for my assignments back when I was in high school. I really don't know what the features of Google are until Sir Oli discussed some of them. I was amazed when he introduced to us the Google Calendar. It can really help us students to remember the tasks and events that are needed to be done on the given time and date. It also has a one of a kind feature like sending an SMS alert to remind you about those scheduled tasks. He also introduced the Google Docs wherein you can do your research paper or project together with your other group mates. Another application is the Gtalk. In this application, you can chat or have a conference with other people. The bonus factor is that Google sends you your conversation with your friends, classmates or prof through e-mail! So you don't have to worry if you forgot to save those important talks. These unique features encouraged me to change my current web-based e-mail, which is Yahoo, to Gmail. =)

Aside from Google, I love using Yahoo Messenger because it helps me to keep in touch with my high school friends even though we're in different places. I also use Yahoo to e-mail my relatives who are working in distant countries. Ever since I entered high school, I am already using this web-based e-mail to research for my assignments and other projects. It really helped me in my every day life as a student.

Productivity is a measurement of how much work has been done at a given time. It also measures one's creativeness and fruitfulness. Technology definitely makes our lives a whole lot easier, thus, we are able to do more work. Because of the existing technologies, we are capable of performing our work more efficiently. Before, students will have to go to the library to research for their homework. But now, all information you need are readily available in the net and can be accessed anywhere! In the past, we used pens and papers in writing letters to our loved ones and friends. But nowadays, we can use the electronic mail or e-mail to communicate with anyone and everyone we know even they are in distant places. There is no need to go to post office just to mail the letters...instead, letters can be sent with just one click in our computers.

My parents are already using some of the online applications and web -based e-mail in having their business transactions with other companies. They also use cell phones in communicating with their bosses as well as with their clients. Considering that my parents are busy persons, I would suggest them to use the Google Calendar featuring the SMS alert for them to be reminded with their schedules regarding their business meetings and appointments.
